🌟🌟 Employee Spotlight of the Week 🌟🌟

This week's spotlight is recognizing Jessica Van Duke from Shelby County Operations!

Jessica has been with RPS since 2016! She actually met her husband, Josh, while working here! About four years ago, she went part-time to spend more time with her growing family. She and Josh now have two sweet boys who keep them busy!

Jessica is also a huge animal lover and has a heart for helping dogs in need. She opens her home to foster as many as she can!

Even with her busy life, Jessica still makes time for us and always gives 100% when she’s here! We’re so lucky to have her as part of our South Group team.

Thank you, Jessica, for all your years of hard work! We appreciate you! ❤️

🚑🏆 A big congratulations to our very own Alicia Holt! 🏆🚑

There’s nothing better than seeing one of our own recognized for the hard work and heart they put into what they do! We are so excited to celebrate Alicia Holt, Paramedic in Walker County, for being named the 2026 Walker County EMSP of the Year by the Birmingham Regional Emergency Medical Services System (BREMSS)!

Alicia was honored at the BREMSS Annual Awards Banquet on October 15th, and we couldn’t be happier for her! This recognition is a reflection of the care and dedication she brings to her patients and community.

We are so lucky to have Alicia on our team and couldn’t be more proud of her! Please join us in giving her a big congratulations! ❤️👏

Happy ER Nurses Week! 🩺

As this week comes to a close, we would like to send our thanks to all of the ER Nurses in our community and all over the world.

You've held the hands of our sickest patients. You've laughed with us at 3 a.m. You've cried with us after the calls that don't go the way anyone hoped. Your unwavering compassion, dedication and teamwork does not go unnoticed. ❤️

To every ER Nurse we work alongside with, we’re proud to be on your team. 🚑

🌟 Employee Spotlight of the Week !🌟

This week, we’re excited to recognize Jocelyn Owen!

Jocelyn has been working in healthcare for 7 years. After attending nursing school, she realized her passion was in prehospital medicine and decided to take a different path. She attended Go Rescue in May 2025 to earn her EMT license and soon found her home here at RPS- BLS Division.

Since joining our team, Jocelyn has stepped into the role of Field Training Officer (FTO), where she helps train and guide new EMTs. She takes a lot of pride in helping others build their skills, gain confidence, and become the best providers they can be.

When she’s not working, Jocelyn enjoys fishing with her 89-year-old grandmother, whom she also helps care for, and spending time with her two dogs, Lexi and Lucy. She also loves babysitting, traveling anywhere there’s water, and pretty much anything outdoors!

Jocelyn isn’t slowing down anytime soon! She’s currently attending RTI and is working toward earning her paramedic license in December. Her long-term goal is to become a pediatric critical care transport provider or a flight medic with RAMS.

We’re proud to have Jocelyn as part of the RPS family and appreciate the dedication she brings to both her patients and her coworkers. Keep up the great work, Jocelyn! 🚑

Regional Paramedical Services and Regional Air-Medical Services - RAMS would to express our deepest gratitude to the Lutzie 43 Foundation for inviting us to participate in the Calera High School Driving Summit to try and teach our youth about the dangers of operating a vehicle, not wearing your seatbelt, and allowing distractions. Gut wrenching story from Mike Lutzenkirchen on the loss of his son Phillip after finishing a great career as an Auburn Tiger. Hopefully, we can change and save at least one life!!

🚑 Employee of the Week – Molly Fancher 🚑

This week, we’re proud to recognize Molly Fancher, an Advanced EMT with our Jefferson County operations!

Molly has been working in EMS for around nine years and says she’s had the opportunity to learn from countless providers at RPS who have helped shape her into the provider she is today. Every call, experience, and patient encounter has given her a chance to learn and grow, both professionally and personally.

One of the things Molly enjoys most about EMS is being able to help people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Whether it’s providing critical care or simply showing a little compassion when someone needs it most, making a difference is what continues to make this career meaningful to her.

When she’s not at work, Molly enjoys babysitting, loves dinosaurs, and likes visiting the U.S. Space & Rocket Center.

We’re glad to have Molly as part of the RPS family and appreciate everything she does for our patients and the Jefferson County community! 🚑
