📢 Temporary Closure Notice

Capital Region Amphitheater will be closed for a private rental beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday, October 10, through 10 a.m. Sunday, October 11, as it welcomes Capital City Christian Church for their special event!

🌳 Ellis-Porter Riverside Park will remain open during its regular daily hours of 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.

🚧Parking Lot Closure!🚧

The Washington Park Ice Arena parking lot will be CLOSED Monday (10/12) and Tuesday (10/13) for asphalt milling and overlaying. Striping will follow soon after, but may not close the lot. We'll post updates here and on signage at the Ice Arena if anything changes!

Cheer on your favorite middle school principal as they try to persuade their pig to win the race — and score a $250 scholarship for their school, courtesy of the JC Schools Foundation. One of these four, or of the several others signed up, could come out on top — will your school win?

Join us October 18, 2026 from 1 - 4 PM, at the Cole County Fairgrounds for FarmFest, featuring Cow Patty Bingo, Principal Piggy Races and plenty of reasons to whoop, holler and cheer on your favorite principal!

Our next Community Bike is getting a little more adventurous! ✨THIS✨ Saturday, (10/10) we’re riding to the Hartsburg Pumpkin Festival for a fall day on two wheels. 🍂

Instead of our usual 10(ish), we’ll pedal about 22.9 miles round trip. Our route is mostly flat, and we’ll have time to explore the festival, grab a snack, check out the pumpkins and enjoy some fall fun before heading back to .

Love the JCMO Tri? Help lead the 2027 race! 🏊‍♀️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♀️ We’re looking for a volunteer Race Director to coordinate the 2027 JC Triathlon - The Great Escape. After a record year in 2025—and with the youth tri bringing even more kids into the event—we want to keep this momentum going!

With the race’s growing popularity, routes already in place and a planning committee ready to help, we’re looking for a talented leader to help see it through. It’s a big job, but you won’t be doing it alone! Our committee helps with registration, routes, volunteers, race-day setup, awards and more.

We love The Great Escape because it gets kids and adults moving, supports youth sports scholarships, and is the perfect event to “tri” out if you’ve never raced before. 😉

Have you raced it? Loved it? Help keep a good thing going. Consider volunteering or encourage someone who’d be a great fit to reach out.

We're moo-ving into October, which means FarmFest is right around the corner!

FarmFest is our ag-focused family fundraiser hosted by the JC Parks & Recreation Foundation in support of your favorite parks and programs. This year we've got activity booths, principal piggy races (more on that later!) and Cow Patty Bingo brought to you with FREE admission thanks to Missouri Corn.

What is Cow Patty Bingo, you ask? It's pretty easy:
