🚨 STORM SIREN TEST — TODAY AT 1 PM 🚨

The City of Jenks will conduct an outdoor storm siren test today, Wednesday, September 16, at 1:00 PM.

🔊 A few things to know about our storm sirens:

• Outdoor warning sirens are designed primarily to alert people who are outside. You may not hear them clearly inside your home, business, or vehicle.

• Don't rely on sirens as your only warning method. Have multiple ways to receive severe weather and emergency notifications.

• If you hear the sirens during severe weather, move indoors, seek shelter, and check a trusted source for additional information.

• There is no "all clear" siren. Continue monitoring weather information until the threat has passed.

Today, we proudly recognize National Police Woman Day and celebrate two outstanding women who serve the Jenks Police Department: Assistant Chief Melissa Brown and MPO Elena Kays.

Their dedication, professionalism, leadership, and commitment to service make a lasting impact not only within our department, but throughout the Jenks community.

25 YEARS LATER — WE REMEMBER. WE HONOR. WE WILL NEVER FORGET.
25 years have passed since September 11, 2001, but the sacrifice of that day has never faded.
Today, 7 Jenks Police Officers climbed 110 flights of stairs in remembrance of the first responders who climbed into danger while others were trying to escape.
Each of our officers wore a lanyard honoring a first responder who lost their life on 9/11. For all 110 flights, they carried that person’s name with them; one step, one flight, one story at a time.
When the climb was complete, our officers descended and placed each lanyard on the Wall of Remembrance.
For us, this climb is about more than reaching the 110th floor.
It is about remembering the courage of those who answered the call.
It is about honoring those who ran toward danger.
It is about carrying their names and their stories forward so they are never forgotten.
25 years later, we still remember.
We still honor.
And we will never forget.
