Jenks Fire & Rescue were called to a structure fire in Jenks yesterday and assisted by Glenpool Fire. Unfortunately, some of the home was damaged but FORTUNATELY there was no loss of life.

Smoke alarms are often the difference between life and death in home fires. Not sure if your alarm is working? Please call 918-299-6311 (non-emergency line) and ask for a smoke alarm check; a crew will come by and assist you.

Jenks Fire assisted Bixby Fire Department earlier today (as part of our mutual aid agreement) with a structure fire.

Great job to their crews and ours for working together to quickly stop this fire from spreading further and reaching all animals involved.

The picture below is named “Walk of Courage” by photographer Robert McMahan. We use it today to remember how courageous so many people were, 25 years ago, on 9/11.

We want to remember the heroes in New York City and the Pentagon, and on Flight 93 that sacrificed their own health and lives to help those in need. Whether they were a first responder or just someone that understood the severity of the situation, they are labeled a hero in our book.

We remember and recognize the pain and agony of this day for so many.

We will never forget. We will never stop honoring those who ran to the danger and never returned.

🔥 Burn Ban Extended Through September 21

From Tulsa County : The burn ban issued for Tulsa County on September 3 has been extended through Monday, September 21, 2026, due to continued extreme fire danger.

The Board of County Commissioners approved the extension during this morning’s meeting after a majority of the county’s municipal and rural fire chiefs agreed that the burn ban should remain in place.

The burn ban does not apply to gas or electric grills used on non-flammable surfaces or to industrial welding on non-flammable surfaces.

Please avoid outdoor burning and take extra precautions to help prevent wildfires.

Burn Ban in effect for Tulsa County 🚫🔥

Effective Sept. 3, 2026, the Tulsa County Board of County Commissioners has declared a burn ban in Tulsa County.

While the burn ban is in effect, no outdoor burning or open flames are permitted. This ban will remain in effect until Tuesday, Sept. 8.

Please help protect our community and reduce the risk of wildfires by following the burn ban and avoiding all outdoor burning and open flames.

Oklahoma weather can change rapidly, please follow us for updates.

Emergency Notification – Glenpool Pipeline Fire

At approximately 8:33 a.m., Glenpool emergency personnel responded to the Explorer Pipeline facility at 1312 W. 126th Street following reports of an explosion.

Two tanks have exploded, and fire crews remain on scene working to contain the fire and prevent further spread. No injuries have been reported at this time.

As a precaution, surrounding businesses and residences have been evacuated. The public is urged to avoid the area and allow emergency personnel to safely operate.

Traffic Advisory: Routes around 121st Street and Elwood Avenue remain open and may be used as detours around the affected area.

At this time, no Jenks residents are within the evacuation area or are threatened by the incident. If evacuation of Jenks residents becomes necessary, affected residents will be notified through the appropriate channels, including the emergency alert system, social media, the City website, and in-person notification to those directly affected.

This remains an active and ongoing incident. We will continue monitoring the situation and provide updates if conditions change or additional information becomes available.
