Building capacity: U.S. Army Africa command team visits peacekeeping training sites in Rwanda, Burundi - Natural Fire 10 - The ACOTA program is Rwanda is focused on preparing soldiers for peacekeeping operations while deployed in Darfur, Sudan. The site in Rwanda also has a computer simulation lab, which is the only simulation center for peacekeeping support operations in Africa.

Our U.S. Army has built close relationships around the world with our Partners and Allies through countless trainings and multinational exercises. We appreciate their expertise and commitment to regional strength and unity because Unity is Strength and Strength is Peace!

A true leader has the confidence to stand alone, the courage to make tough decisions, and the compassion to listen to the needs of others. He does not set out to be a leader but becomes one through the equality of his actions and the integrity of his intent.

It is a proud privilege to be a soldier—a good soldier [with] discipline, self-respect, pride in his unit and his country, a high sense of duty and obligation to comrades and to his superiors, and a self-confidence born of demonstrated ability.

A soldier does not usually fight because he hates the enemy or the perpetrators. He fights with all his courage because he loves the people in his country, especially his family.

Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it on to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States, where men were free.

We have the World’s greatest Soldiers because when the nation calls, they answer. They are professionals who are masters of their craft. Our Soldiers are capable of handling any mission and any problem. Some say where the American Soldiers goes, freedom follows, but I say, where our Soldiers go, Freedom Stays! U.S. Army
