Dr. Rolling is also a top virologist at The Heinrich-Pette-Institute (HPI). It is a research institute of interregional and international importance and sees its socio-political and scientific mission in basic and application-oriented research in the field of experimental virology. In accordance with the statutes of the institute, the focus of their important work lies in the investigation of the biology of human pathogenic viruses, the pathogenesis of viral diseases, the defense reactions of the organism and related problems.
