Hello Super Amazing Volunteers!!
The City of JC would also like to thank Uta Brauser and Arts In Action for partnering with us for the Annual Mayor’s Action Bureau Toy Drive! This Friday and next, Nov 30th and Dec 7th, interested donors may drop off new unwrapped toys at the Creative Grove Arts Market between the hours of 3pm and 9pm. This new Grove St PATH location provides our residents with a convenient after hours donation point. You can stop off on your way from work or while shopping at the Arts Market!
In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, the need for toys to brighten the holiday season for our City's children has increased exponentially. We appreciate the generosity of you, our volunteers, who continuously beg the question, ‘How can I help Jersey City Restore?’ Thank you!
Please be reminded that toys may also be dropped off at the Mayors Action Bureau, City Hall, 280 Grove Street, on any regular business day, Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm.
We close donations on Dec 14th for distribution to families in need. Thank you for your ongoing generosity and concern for fellow residents!
If you have questions about the Toy Drive, or know a family in need this year, please call the Mayor’s Action Bureau at 201-547-4900.
On behalf of Mayor Jerramiah T. Healy, the JC Municipal Council, the Mayor’s Action Bureau & Division of Cultural Affairs, thank you again for your generosity!!

Dear Amazing Volunteers of Jersey City,
Superstorm Sandy took a tremendous toll on our City. Weeks later, so many residents struggle to rebuild and restore all that was lost. Yet, amidst the challenges, there you were, and still are, inspiring one another, offering hope amidst so much loss and suffering.
Every single volunteer is a testament to the greatness of Jersey City. The people who rose to this unprecedented challenge with acts of brotherhood, neighborly kindness and outright compassion are the spirit of Thanksgiving.
So many of our residents and fellow New Jerseyans could enter this holiday season with a feeling of hopelessness, but you have offered pillars of strength to each of them. One by one, you lift each victim of the storm up on your strong shoulders to carry them through the tide.
Even today, many of you skipped your place at the family dining table to serve at a soup kitchen or cook Thanksgiving dinner for those who were displaced. Some of you are helping a neighbor relocate today from a soaked dwelling, or aiding someone with a FEMA application. Some of you are so busy helping that you don't have the time to hear thank you.
You invoke gratitude, you amazing, compassionate, extra fabulous people of Jersey City! Thank YOU!!!
On behalf of Mayor Jerramiah T. Healy, the Jersey City Municipal Council & all Municipal Departments, Thank You!!! We wish you a Happy and Healthy Thanksgiving!
