At yesterday’s Senate Judiciary Committee confirmation hearing for the DEP Commissioner, I asked about the harmful Van Keuren waste facility proposal and New Jersey’s first-of-its-kind environmental justice law before proudly voting for Ed Potosnak.

This week, we presented a $350,000 budget appropriation to NJ SOS Veterans, which together with Catholic Charities has been getting homeless off our streets with housing, emergency hotel assistance, and supportive services. Earlier this month, American Legion Post 107 was awarded $3 million for their veteran housing project. I was proud to champion these awards and am grateful to Commissioner-designate Vincent Solomeno for our collaboration in fighting veteran homelessness.

Fired up to welcome Governor-elect Mikie Sherrill to my district office and talk to Pedestrian Plaza’s small businesses. Among other things, we discussed housing supply and how to deliver on her affordability agenda.

Hudson County deserves safe, reliable public transit and a ban on dangerous, disruptive nonessential helicopter traffic. Senator Andy Kim has been a critical and engaged advocate in these efforts and recently secured us a meeting with the NTSB Chairwoman and staff about the PATH electrical fires.
