🏠 WAYNE COUNTY PROPERTY OWNERS 🏠

Many of you just received a Notice of Assessment in the mail.

Please remember: This is NOT a tax bill.

The notice shows what the Tax Assessor says your property is worth. Your property may show a higher market value, but that does not mean your taxes will go up by that same amount.

For homeowners who qualify for the new Georgia homestead exemption, your taxable assessed value is based on your 2024 value, with adjustments allowed under state law.

So, when you look at your notice, don't confuse the current market value with the value that will actually be used to calculate your taxes.

Again, this notice is an assessment — it is NOT your property tax bill.
