๐ What a wonderful day celebrating Jesupโthe City Trains Built!
Jesup Train Day brought families, train enthusiasts, and our community together for a day filled with discovery and fun. From model trains and railroad history to StoryWalkยฎ, story time, childrenโs activities, and trackless train rides, there was something for kids of all ages and families to enjoy!
Railfans also had the opportunity to watch trackside as trains rolled through our active railroad town, sharing the excitement with longtime train lovers and a new generation of little railfans. ๐
Last count I heard was 11 trains came through. Iโm sure someone will have the correct number. If you want to see people move fast, be at the depot when someone yells โTrain.โ
Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, shared displays, and helped make the day a success. Tom and Gary, we could not do this without you. Melba, Jeff, Janet and Heather - you cannot be beat. The three train amigos - Andy, John and John - thank you for being a part of our day. Thank you goes to Ashley Brannen for letting us use her as the Hello, Jesup! Tour guide - that StoryWalk is one for the ages. Pam and Courtney - you two always are ready to hit the ground running. And the entire tourism board - thank you for understanding where we can go with this event.
And to our railfans, visitors, and the kids whose parents could watch sitting on a park bench, your support helps us celebrate Jesupโs railroad heritage and create special memories together! โค๏ธif youโre a Railfan, Jesup is ready for your visit and put October 16, 2027 on your calendar. We will be back then to do this all over again.
