Yall come out to the Center Square and help us say goodbye!

Just to clarify, this is happening on the Shelby County Courthouse Square in downtown Center! Shelby County we need your help! Tenaha VFD Assistant Chief Craig Terry passed away today. At this time, Mangum Funeral Home is in the process of bringing his remains back to Center to make his final arrangements. Shelby County fire departments are coming together to provide a fire truck es**rt from the county line north of Tenaha to Mangum Funeral Home on San Augustine Street in Center. We will keep you updated, but we are expecting this convoy to be arriving in center sometime between 6:30-8:00 pm this evening. We will narrow that window down as we can. We would like to ask as many citizens as can to line the north and west sides of the square to pay respects to a lifelong volunteer firefighter. Craig served as a member at Tenaha VFD for many years, including over ten years as an officer. Craig is one of those people that would drop what he’s doing to go help a complete stranger at a moment’s notice. This is your opportunity to show your appreciation for that, as this is essentially his funeral procession. Stay tuned to our page for more updates on the timeline!

Just a couple of the veterans that stopped by to sign Brush 3 , aka “The Patriot” at the Shelby County Stars and Stripes event on the historic downtown Courthouse Square today. Every time one of these heroes adds their signature, the coolness factor on this truck goes up a little more! To all of our veterans, THANK YOU! You are the reason we still celebrate freedom in this country!
