For more than 50 years, WETS-FM 89.5 has brought news, music, Appalachian stories, and public radio programming to listeners across the Tri-Cities.

Beginning Monday, Oct. 19, WETS will launch its fall fund drive at a particularly important moment. The station is working to offset the loss of nearly $100,000 in annual federal funding — making listener support more important than ever.

Every contribution helps sustain the programming, equipment, and services that keep public radio available across our region.

The fall fund drive runs Oct. 19-24. Learn more or give anytime at wets.org/donate.

Peak fall color is moving downhill. 🍂

The highest elevations are mostly past peak, but elevations between 3,000 and 4,000 feet are entering some of their best color of the season.

ETSU experts say the remnants of Hurricane Isaias brought strong winds but did less damage to foliage than feared, leaving plenty of color for scenic drives this week.

The Tri-Cities still has another week or two before peak, but neighborhood and campus color is already starting to build.

In the latest Fall Color Report, ETSU experts say peak color is shifting from the highest peaks into the mid-elevations.
