We were happy to kick off this year’s Alliance for Continued Learning program series. We spent two hours this morning with an amazing crowd of people. Thank you to ETSU for the opportunity 💜🧡

Our monthly SPARK! program was held yesterday (First Tuesday of each month) and was lots of fun for all who attended! After a delicious lunch, the program was on “The History of the Living Room”, which was very interesting and sparked some great conversation. We wrapped up our time with (almost) all the participants trying the viral grape soda everyone is panic buying, which most of them loved.

The benefits of daily olive oil consumption are wonderful for many reasons, including brain health. Some studies indicate there are also potential preventative and protective properties.

Join us at the Kingsport Senior Center today at 2 for our bi-monthly Memory & Brain group. Kesha Rogers, Owner of R & O Ranch Olive Oils, will be our guest speaker and will be highlighting all the brain and body benefits of olive oil as well as providing samples!

Alzheimer’s Tennessee wants to join the world in paying tribute to Dolly Parton, the ORIGINAL “Tennessee Original”. Like Dolly, Alzheimer’s Tennessee cherishes its East Tennessee roots while sharing our love with the whole state. Dolly’s legacy will undoubtedly live on through her music as well as countless people and causes she supported.

We know Dollywood is a big part of her lasting memory that always makes us smile. Dolly’s namesake theme park and its employees have been wonderful partners to Alzheimer’s Tennessee for more than three decades. We appreciate Dolly and Dollywood’s incredible contribution and know her words to “Dream more, learn more, care more, and be more” apply to all of us, including Tennessee families figuring out how to live with dementia. Thank you for “alz” the memories, Dolly.

With heavy hearts, the Dollywood family mourns the passing of our beloved Dreamer-in-Chief, Dolly Parton. Everyone at Dollywood shares the sorrow of countless people around the world touched by Dolly’s warmth, wisdom and generous spirit.

Dolly’s heartfelt wish was that Dollywood always remain a place of joy, hope and togetherness—a space where families and friends could honor her memory, not with silence, but with laughter, music and shared dreams.

“The greatest privilege of my life has been helping Dolly bring her dreams to life at Dollywood,” said Eugene Naughton, Dollywood Parks & Resorts President. “Dolly’s heart was as vast as the mountains she cherished, and her compassion knew no bounds. She inspired generations to dream boldly and love deeply. While we grieve her loss, we are honored and committed to carry her light forward. Her legacy will continue to shine in every melody sung, every smile shared and every dream kindled within these gates.”

Dolly’s enduring legacy extends beyond her music and generosity to her remarkable work ethic—an inspiration to people everywhere. In her spirit, Dollywood will be open Wednesday as Dolly wanted, always reminding everyone with her signature sparkle -- “the show must go on.” Together, we honor her by carrying forward her message of love, perseverance, and hope.
