Today, we remember.

We remember all the people whose lives were changed on this day 25 years ago.

We remember those, who when the call came, ran directly towards the danger.

We remember those who gave their lives to make sure others escaped.

We remember a day that showed us the worst humanity has to offer.

We remember a day that showed us the best humanity had to offer.

On this 25th anniversary of September 11th, we at the Johnson Fire Department simply ask you to remember what this day means.

Remember the courage, the selfless dedication, and the sacrifice that first responders willingly made.

Over the years, we repeatedly have said, never forget.

We remember.

🚨 REMINDER - ORANGE COUNTY EMERGENCY EXERCISE TOMORROW, WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 9

Tomorrow, Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus and the Orange County Department of Emergency Services will conduct a large-scale emergency exercise simulating a significant flooding event across Orange County.

⚠️THIS IS ONLY A TEST.
County departments and emergency response partners working together in the Emergency Operations Center will be on hand to test how we coordinate, communicate, manage resources, and respond during a major emergency.

πŸ“± Residents may also receive a TEST emergency alert as part of the exercise.

Orange County will be testing its Countywide Emergency Alert System during the exercise. Compatible mobile devices within the targeted area may automatically receive the test message - no registration is required.

⚠️ If you receive an emergency alert on September 9 as part of this exercise, THIS IS ONLY A TEST. There is no emergency, and no action is required.

September is National Emergency Preparedness Month, making it the perfect time to test the systems, plans, and partnerships we rely on when a real emergency happens.

The Officers and Members of the Johnson Fire Department extend our sincere thoughts and prayers to the Coldenham Fire Department and all those affected by the events of last night.

For firefighters, both career and volunteer, a firehouse is far more than a building. It is a second home: a place we maintain with pride, train in, and share with our brothers and sisters in the service. Losing that space, and the ability to do what you love to the best you can, is like losing a part of yourself.

We ask our community to please keep the members of the Coldenham Fire Department in your thoughts during this difficult time.

Thank you to everyone who came out yesterday and supported us at the 250th Independence Celebration hosted by the Towns of Minisink, Greenville, and Wawayanda!

We loved connecting with you, hearing your kind words, and listening to your stories. Events like this remind us that our community is what makes us stronger. The outstanding turnout yesterday clearly shows the deep patriotism and pride in our area. It is truly a pleasure to serve people who appreciate the sacrifices and commitment of all our emergency services, especially those who are volunteers.
