Today we honor the memory of Correctional Officer Kevin J. Brewer.

Nine years ago, Officer Brewer tragically passed away after suffering a fatal heart attack while responding to multiple incidents inside the Will County Adult Detention Facility.

A dedicated member of the facility’s Emergency Response Team, Officer Brewer demonstrated courage and professionalism throughout his 10 years of service with the Will County Sheriff’s Office. His actions reflected the very best of our mission — protecting others, no matter the challenge.

Officer Brewer is survived by his wife and three children. His commitment to service and his sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Work and Play for our K-9's!
K-9 Copper, K-9 Ace and their handlers made a stop in Mokena this week, visiting with 3rd graders from St. Mary's school.

The kids watched the partnership between K-9 and handler, were able to ask questions and then got to show their love to our K-9's.

Thanks for letting us stop by St. Mary Catholic School Mokena!

Lockport Man Arrested for Possessing Child Sexual Abuse Material

Will County Sheriff’s Office detectives initiated an investigation on 06/12/2026 when they were notified by the Will County Probation Office of an incident involving a possible probation violation and Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).

Detectives learned Piotr Fudala, a 33-year-old Lockport resident, checked in for a probation meeting and the probation officer requested to examine his cell phone. Fudala provided the probation officer with his cell phone and subsequently the probation officer located possibly CSAM on his device.

Detectives arrived at the Will County Probation Office and spoke with Fudala, who admitted possessing CSAM on his phone. Fudala consented to a forensic examination of his cell phone. A forensic review of Fudala’s phone yielded approximately 40 images and 9 videos of CSAM.

On 10/05/2026, an arrest warrant was issued for Piotr Fudala, charging him with 6 counts of a Class 2 felony for Possession of CSAM.

On 10/05/2026 at 3:00 p.m., detectives found Fudala at his home in the 200 block of Cameron Avenue in Lockport. Fudala was subsequently taken into custody without incident and transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility where he is being held pending a detention hearing.

Fudala will be in court Friday October 9th.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
