Welcome to International Studies- where learning is required and so is excellent behavior!

At International Studies, our globally focused initiatives, coupled with our adaptation of The Ron Clark Academy, create well-rounded students prepared to move forward with their educational career and into the workforce. Our students’ daily activities are filled with many innovative and up-to-date experiences. New to International Studies is our EAST Lab, the only one of its kind at the elementary level in Northeast Arkansas, which gives students a one-of-a-kind opportunity to immerse themselves in the use of technology to use their critical thinking skills to solve world problems. Working collaboratively with the EAST program, our ACE program encourages accelerated learners to challenge the status quo and create unique, individualized experiences for themselves. Our rotation activities feature a class unique to International Studies, Spanish and World Culture. Each student in our building receives a weekly 40 minute segment focused on the acquisition of the Spanish language and global competency. Our other activity classes include P.E., Music, Art, and Library, all featuring state-of-the-art equipment to support content-based learning, as well as the infusion of core subjects. In the regular classroom, our highly qualified teachers provide dynamic instruction using Wit and Wisdom, CKLA, and iReady Math curriculums. Students receive attention based on their individual needs and are scaffolded appropriately to meet the high rigor of the curriculum. Feel welcome to reach out to our administrators by phone or email with any questions! Principal, Suzanne Faught, [email protected]

🏆 MOST VALUABLE TEACHER! 🍎

Our senior football players had the opportunity to choose a teacher who made a huge impact on them throughout their time at JPS!

Aiden chose Mrs. Hunt! 🧡 When she received this recognition, she shared that it was the best award she could ever receive!

Thank you, Mrs. Hunt, for the positive impact you make on your students and for being someone they will remember long after their time at JPS. Your influence truly makes a difference!

Congratulations! 🎉

🌟 Teacher/Staff Spotlights! 🌟

Last week, we had the pleasure of celebrating two amazing ladies in our building as our staff spotlights: Mrs. Hufstedler and Mrs. Rebecca! We are so blessed to have both of these ladies as part of our school family!

🔬 Mrs. Hufstedler is our AMAZING 4th grade science teacher! She has a gift for making learning fun and engaging for her students. She is always willing to jump in, lend a helping hand, and be a team player. We are so lucky to have her sharing her passion for learning with our students. Thank you for all you do, Mrs. Hufstedler!

💬 Mrs. Rebecca is our speech therapist and truly the best of the best! She is always willing to do whatever it takes to meet the needs of our students. She is flexible, dependable, and goes above and beyond to serve our students and staff. We are truly blessed with the BEST!

Help us celebrate these two wonderful ladies! Thank you both for the difference you make in our school each and every day! ❤️

🦌Our second graders had a wonderful Field Trip this week to Crowley’s Ridge Nature Center!🐊They enjoyed learning fascinating facts about creepy crawlers, and other animals while exploring and discovering more about nature.🍁They even got to see snakes, alligators and an opossum! Afterwards they enjoyed lunch and some playtime at Craighead Forest Park!🛝 As an Arkansas Game and Fish Commission School of Conservation Leadership it’s exciting to bring the classroom outdoors and show our students some of the animals and habitats they’ve been learning about!
