💚 Sometimes, the best stories are the ones we can't tell.💚

At The Caring Cupboard, we are privileged to witness incredible acts of kindness and compassion every day. Some of our most meaningful success stories are ones we cannot share publicly, because protecting the privacy and dignity of the neighbors we serve will always come first.

But that doesn't mean we can't recognize the amazing people who help make those stories possible! ❤️

Today, we want to give a special SHOUT-OUT to Yeeters Barbershop and Josh the Barber! 💈✂️

When a need arose in our community, Josh stepped up with kindness, generosity, and a willingness to make a difference. No fanfare. No expectation of recognition. Just one neighbor helping another.

We may not be able to share the details, but we CAN share our gratitude.

Josh, thank you for reminding us that making a difference doesn't always require a grand gesture. Sometimes, it simply takes someone willing to say, "I can help."

This is what community looks like. This is what compassion looks like. And this is why we're so proud to be part of a community that cares.

Please join us in showing some love to Josh and the team at Yeeter's Barbershop! 👏💚

Because fighting food insecurity is about so much more than food. It's about neighbors helping neighbors, preserving dignity, and restoring hope.

🛒 Shopping Walmart Deal Days? Your savings can do even more! 💚

Walmart Deal Days are here, with a week of special savings October 5–11. While you’re filling your cart and taking advantage of the deals, there’s an easy way to give back to our community, too.

Through Walmart’s Spark Good Round Up program, you can select The Caring Cupboard as your preferred charity and choose to round up eligible online purchases to the nearest dollar at checkout. Those few extra cents are donated to The Caring Cupboard to help us provide nutritious food to our neighbors facing food insecurity.

So while you’re shopping the deals this week, make your checkout count!

To participate, login to your Walmart account, go to your account settings, scroll down to the "My Profile" section, select "Giving and Impact", then click the button that says "Select Local Charity". In the search for charity box, type "Caring Cupboard Inc" as your preferred charity, then check the box that says round up. You have now successfully set The Caring Cupboard as your preferred charity.

There's just one more step. When you check out, you will again be given the option to round up your purchase. You will need to check this box as well in order to have your purchase rounded up to the nearest dollar to support The Caring Cupboard.

🛒 Shop the deals.
💰 Save a little.

📊 Sometimes numbers are more than numbers. They’re our neighbors.

Yesterday, members of The Caring Cupboard team joined fellow food pantry and community partners, state legislators, hunger-relief leaders, and others at the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank for the release of the 2026 Food Insecurity in Pennsylvania Report.

While a room full of charts, statistics, and reports may not sound like the most exciting way to spend a morning 😄, the information behind those numbers matters tremendously.

Food insecurity continues to affect families, children, seniors, veterans, and working neighbors across our communities. And as the need grows, food pantries and the charitable food network are being challenged to keep pace.

That’s why good data matters. It helps us understand where the need exists, how it is changing, and—most importantly—how we can work together to respond.

We are incredibly thankful to the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank for investing in the research, collecting the data, bringing partners together, and helping ensure that the conversation about hunger is grounded in the experiences of the people we serve. ❤️

Now we have a request for YOU:

📖 Read the report at https://bit.ly/3TNC7Rd
📣 Share what you learn.
🤝 Support your local food pantry.
❤️ Donate. Volunteer. Advocate.

Behind every percentage is a person. Behind every statistic is a family. And behind every local pantry is a community working hard to make sure our neighbors have enough food on their tables.

At The Caring Cupboard, we remain committed to doing our part—and we are grateful to everyone who continues to stand beside us.

🧡 This post is for someone who may never “like” it. 🧡

Maybe groceries have gotten harder to afford.

Maybe an unexpected bill has changed everything.

Maybe you're helping a parent, raising grandchildren, working fewer hours or simply watching the grocery total climb higher every week.

Whatever brought you here, The Caring Cupboard is here for you.

Asking for help isn't always easy. We'll do our best to make receiving it easier.

Our goal is to provide nutritious food while treating every neighbor who walks through our doors with dignity, compassion and respect.

👀 Did you ever wonder what happens before the pantry opens?

Spoiler alert:

A LOT. 😂

🚚 Trucks arrive.

📦 Food gets unloaded.

⚖️ Donations are weighed.

🥫 Products are sorted.

🥛 Cold food gets refrigerated.

🍎 Produce gets organized.

🛒 Shelves get stocked.

🧹 Things get cleaned.

And somewhere in there…there's probably coffee. ☕ A lot of coffee!

By the time our first neighbor begins shopping, an incredible team of staff and volunteers has already been hard at work.

Food doesn't magically appear on pantry shelves.

It takes PEOPLE. 💪

And we happen to have some pretty amazing ones! And they all deserve our thanks and appreciation! 💚

🧡 Thank you to everyone working behind the scenes to make this mission possible!

🚨 This Labor Day, as we honor the achievements and contributions of American workers 💪 (including those working on our new building), we are also doing some myth-busting!

MYTH: “People who use food pantries don't work.”

FACT: Food insecurity affects many working households.

A paycheck doesn't automatically mean there's enough money left for groceries.

Housing. Childcare. Transportation. Utilities. Healthcare. Insurance. Unexpected repairs.

The bills don't stop—and sometimes wages simply can't keep up.

Food insecurity isn't about laziness.

It's about a household budget that no longer balances. ⚖️

That's why you'll find working families among the neighbors served by food pantries across America.

During Hunger Action Month, let's do more than fight hunger.

Let's fight the stigma surrounding it.

🧡 SHARE this post and help replace assumptions with understanding.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 No one should have to wonder where their next meal will come from.

And no one should have to face that worry alone.

Today, we're simply grateful.

Grateful for every volunteer who shows up. 💪

Every donor who gives. 💰

Every farmer or gardener who shares a harvest. 🥕

Every business that partners with us. 🤝

Every organization that sends someone our way. 👉

Every person who shares one of our posts. 📢

And every neighbor who trusts us enough to ask for help. 🛒

This is what community looks like. 💚

Neighbors helping neighbors.

🧡 Please help us spread the word that The Caring Cupboard is here.

🙋 WHAT CAN ONE VOLUNTEER REALLY ACCOMPLISH?

A lot more than you might think.

One volunteer can…

📦 Unload rescued food.

🥫 Sort donations.

🍎 Stock fresh produce.

🛒 Help a neighbor shop.

🚚 Pick up food from one of our partners.

❤️ Make someone feel welcomed.

And when you put dozens of those “one volunteers” together?

Something pretty amazing happens.

A COMMUNITY feeds a COMMUNITY.

The Caring Cupboard simply could not do what we do without volunteers. They are the hands, feet, muscles, smiles and hearts behind this mission.

Never volunteered with us before?

September is a pretty great time to start. 🧡

Come alone. Bring a friend. Bring your coworkers. Bring your family.
