Jonesville Fire District members completed hands-on vehicle extrication training. Crews practiced different techniques using our extrication equipment to better prepare for motor vehicle accidents. Thanks to Santuc Fire Department for coming out to train with us. And a special thank you to Small World Recycling for allowing us to use their property and providing scrap vehicles for our training. We greatly appreciate their support!

Tonight, members of Jonesville Fire District participated in primary search & rescue training with a Thermal Imaging Camera (TIC).

Firefighters sharpened their skills locating victims in zero-visibility conditions while practicing search techniques, crew communication, and efficient TIC operations.

We’re committed to continuous training so we can better serve and protect our community.

It is with heavy hearts that the members of the Jonesville Fire District honor the life and legacy of Tommy, a respected firefighter, leader, mentor, and public servant whose impact will be felt for generations.

Tommy dedicated decades of his life to serving others. He proudly served as Chief of the Jonesville Fire Department, Fire Commander for the City of Spartanburg, an instructor at the South Carolina Fire Academy, a Wildland Firefighter with the United States Forest Service, and a member of the South Carolina National Guard. Through his leadership, knowledge, and commitment to service, Tommy helped shape countless firefighters and touched countless lives.

His dedication did not go unnoticed. Tommy was honored with the prestigious Order of the Palmetto and was inducted into the Hall of Fame at the South Carolina Fire Academy. He was also a proud member of American Legion Post 129.

Please keep Tommy’s family, friends, and fellow firefighters in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
