SCAM ALERT!
There is a "Federal Jury Duty" scam using the Joshua Police Department phone number.
Scammers are using JPD phone number 817-558-3999 stating they are Det Jerald Prescott and Lt Jason Anderson with the Johnson County Sheriffs Office.
The scammers are telling people they missed Federal Jury Duty and putting them under a gag order and making them pay in Bitcoin.
JPD, nor any other agency will make a phone call and demand any payment. If you feel something is not right, hang up and call JCSO at 817-556-6045 or JPD 817-558-3194. Scams can be reported to FTC, Federal Trade Commission. Please advise others that may not have internet access for these warnings to be cautious of such calls.

Here’s how you know it’s a scam.
Courts never ask you to pay over the phone. In fact, no government agency will do that.
Only scammers insist that you can only pay with gift cards, a payment app, cryptocurrency, or a wire transfer service like Western Union or MoneyGram.
Courts never ask potential jurors for sensitive information over the phone, like your Social Security number or birthdate. Only scammers do.
