Some days, being a librarian means helping someone find their next great read. But so often, it means helping people find the resources, support, and connections they need to navigate life’s challenges.

Our Director said, after attending the meeting tonight, "As Director of Dorothy Bramlage Public Library, I’m reminded of how important it is for the library to have a seat at the table alongside the organizations and community leaders who are working to make a difference. When we come together, share resources, and look for ways to support our neighbors, we help build a stronger, more compassionate community.
The library is about so much more than books. It’s about people, connection, and making sure our community knows they don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone." ❤️ What an important evening and a wonderful reminder of why this work matters!

We have concluded our first Homeless Task Force meeting today. Amazing conversations about the profiles of the populations we serve, as well as inventorying resources, determining gaps, and identifying accessibility to them. We've all walked away with homework and our next meeting will be November 19th at 6pm where we will follow up on our homework and continue to solidify the profile and resources so we can then focus on the gaps and proposed action plans.
