The Black History Trail of Geary County invites the community to attend the 26-Year Buffalo Soldier Commemorative Observance at the Buffalo Soldier Memorial in Pawnee Park.

We have concluded our first Homeless Task Force meeting today. Amazing conversations about the profiles of the populations we serve, as well as inventorying resources, determining gaps, and identifying accessibility to them. We've all walked away with homework and our next meeting will be November 19th at 6pm where we will follow up on our homework and continue to solidify the profile and resources so we can then focus on the gaps and proposed action plans.

Junction City will have their first Homeless Task Force (HTF) meeting today at 6pm, located at the C.L. Hoover Opera House. You can find the agenda pictured below. Bringing our local agencies into the same room with intentions of aligning efforts, determining gaps, and ultimately helping our unhoused population is a mark of great hope for our city. On a personal note I am extra excited, as I have been appointed Chair of this task force and will help us lead the way in scoping out our needs and championing resource development.

Bus stop development for Junction City was discussed both at the ATA and the MPO board meetings today. I am eager for our citizens to have public transportation where ADA accessibility, standing, and weather do not prevent them from getting where they need to go. I will continue to push for these needs in our area and find ways our community can collaborate on these projects. 🚍🚏
