APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN!
Maui works because they do.

As living costs rise across Maui County, many working households earn too much to qualify for traditional assistance, yet struggle to cover basic needs. Income alone doesn’t tell the full story of financial vulnerability.

The County-funded Kamaʻāina Credit for ALICE Households Pilot Program provides an opportunity for monthly financial support while studying the needs of working households too often caught in the gap.

Applications: October 19–November 20, 2026

Eligible households selected through a randomized selection process may receive $500–$800 monthly for 12 months. This credit is not a loan and does not need to be repaid.

Before applying: Review the household income brackets, earned-income requirements, and full eligibility criteria.

✔️Apply: https://muwalicecredit.aidkit.org/o/home (link in bio)
✔️Eligibility & FAQs: https://muwalicecredit.aidkit.org/o/faqs (link in bio)

Applications are free, not first-come, first-served, and eligibility does not guarantee randomized selection.

More than half of Maui County households are below the ALICE Threshold.

Behind the data are working households balancing housing, food, transportation, and other essentials. The Kamaʻāina Credit for ALICE Households is a new Maui County-funded initiative providing direct financial support to working households caught between rising costs and the limits of traditional public assistance. As a pilot and study, it will help Maui County understand how direct financial support affects ALICE households.

Applications open October 19 for eligible households across Maui, Molokai, and Lānaʻi. Learn more --> https://muwalicecredit.aidkit.org/o/home
