Spent part of this beautiful Saturday at DeLano Farms with the Kalamazoo Conservation District and Kalamazoo Nature Center learning more about local food and regenerative agriculture. 🌱

We toured the farm, talked about soil health and regenerative growing practices, and learned more about DeLano Farms’ Community Supported Agriculture program. The day also included conversations about farm business incubators and the possibility of building a stronger local food network here in Kalamazoo County.

Food is infrastructure. How and where we grow it, how we support local farmers, how we care for our soil, and how food reaches our neighbors all shape the resilience of our community.

Lots to keep thinking about as we look at how Kalamazoo can better connect land, food, economic opportunity, and sustainability. 🌾

Rain or shine, Can-Am Peace Jam 2026 is happening in downtown Kalamazoo TODAY, now until 11 p.m.! 🇨🇦🎶

We’ve had an incredible summer of festivals in Kalamazoo. From Kalamazoo Pride and Caribbean Festival to the Kalamazoo Valley Blues Festival, Black Pride and so many neighborhood, arts, music and cultural events in between, we’ve had plenty of opportunities to come together and celebrate the people and cultures that make our city what it is.

What a great way to close out a summer of celebration and kick off 269 Fest than with another day of music, food, art, culture and community right in the heart of downtown.

Can-Am Peace Jam celebrates Canadian culture and the connections that stretch across our border, and it’s part of a packed 269 Fest bringing together the music, food, film, technology, art and culture that make Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo.

Come downtown, enjoy the festival, and keep celebrating Kalamazoo. ❤️

Beginning October 5, you will be able to provide public comments by phone during City Commission Business Meetings.

Call-in comments will be accepted during the Public Comments section near the beginning of each meeting, following Communications and before Public Hearings. Speakers will have up to three minutes to comment.
