Our Flathead County Commissioners recently visited the site of the new Public Safety Facility to see a major milestone take shape beneath the surface! 👷‍♂️✨

Specialized crews have officially installed over 1,100 engineered aggregate piers into the ground, ensuring a rock-solid foundation built to last for generations. A huge shoutout to General Contractor Martel Construction for expertly managing site operations and trade phasing, and to MT Helical Pier for putting in seven-day workweeks to keep this project moving right on schedule! 🚜👏

Crises don’t keep office hours—and eventually, neither will crisis care in Flathead County. 🚑🌲
Flathead County has secured a four-year, $2.45M federal SAMHSA grant to expand our Health Department’s Crisis Assistance Team (CAT) into a full 24/7/365 mobile response unit!

Dispatched directly through 911 alongside Fire, EMS, and Law Enforcement, CAT steps in to de-escalate mental health emergencies in real time. Currently operating on a 12-hour daily window, this grant will close the nightly gap, scaling up clinicians to provide face-to-face care around the clock and launching a daytime outreach team for vulnerable residents.

Discover how CAT is completing the "4th Branch" of our valley’s emergency network. Read the full op-ed, including insights from Commissioner Randy Brodehl, CAT Director James Pyke, Sheriff Brian Heino, Police Captain Chad Fetveit, and Fire Chief Jay Hagen on our blog: https://flatheadcounty.gov/department-directory/commissioners-office/public_information_office 🔗📖
