The Montana Cancer Screening Program pays for breast and cervical cancer screenings for people who qualify based on age, income and insurance status. Individuals with insurance still may qualify! Screening services include clinical breast exams, mammograms, and Pap tests. The program can also help pay for diagnostic testing for the follow-up of abnormal screening tests. We partner with local providers, which means that you can see whoever you want, and it will be just like a regular appointment.

Serving Flathead, Lake, Lincoln, Mineral, and Sanders Counties

To begin the process of enrolling in our program please visit our website at https://flatheadcounty.gov/department-directory/health/population-health/breast-and-cervical-cancer-screening

🔥 Mark your calendars, Flathead County! Open burning is scheduled to resume on October 1—strictly weather permitting! 🍂🌬️

Please note: Opening day is entirely dependent on conditions on the ground. If elevated fire danger, high winds, or sudden red flag weather warnings crop up, the opener could be delayed, or daily burning may be shut down.

Before you prepare to clear woody debris and hazard fuels, keep these essentials in mind:
📋 Permits are required — Burn permits are valid for the full calendar year. If you obtained one this spring, you’re already set for the fall! Need one? Get permitted online before burning.

📞 Activate daily — Holding a permit is not an automatic green light. Every single day you plan to light a pile, you must activate your permit online at app.egovmt.com/burnpermit or call the automated line at 1-866-207-2577. If weather warnings or poor air quality shut burning down for the day, the system will not allow activation.

💧 Stay safe & neighborly — Only burn clean, dry natural vegetation. Keep a water source and tools at your site, maintain a cleared perimeter down to bare dirt, and stay with your fire until it is cold to the touch.

Life happens, and breastfeeding is incredibly adaptable! For World Breastfeeding Week, we are highlighting that there is no “one size fits all” way to feed your baby.
Montana families are writing their stories as they go to make breastfeeding work for their unique lives.
Ways to stay flexible:
● Don’t compare: Every baby and every journey is different.
● Embrace change: It’s normal for things to shift as your baby grows.
â—Ź Seek solutions: If a challenge arises, reach out for support to find a new path.
â—Ź Trust yourself: You are the expert on your baby.
Tell us your story: Breastfeeding rarely goes exactly as planned! What is one way you’ve had to “go with the flow” or adapt your journey to make it work for your family? Share your experience in the comments to help inspire others!

Breastfeeding is as much about mindset as it is about nutrition. This World Breastfeeding Week, we are celebrating the magic of believing in yourself! Every drop counts, and every victory—big or small—is worth a celebration.

Magic Mindset Reminders:
● Trust your body: You’ve got this!
â—Ź Give yourself grace: Be kind to yourself as you and your baby learn together.
● Recognize barriers: It’s okay to reach for support when things get tough.
Celebrate every win: Whether it’s the first latch or reaching a monthly goal, you’re doing great!
Tell us: What is one “small win” you’ve celebrated recently?
