Open burning begins today, 10-1-26. The burn permit website and 866 phone number are currently not working. Tech support is working on fixing that issue. In the meantime, burning is allowed without a permit until the system is back to normal operation. Thank you, and be safe.

UPDATE - Traffic flow has resumed. Watch your speed in the area as emergency crews are still on scene.

NOTICE - If you are traveling, avoid West Reserve Drive this morning. There is a structure fire in the 700 block, and the road is closed due to a water supply line being stretched across the road. The road is closed between Whitefish Stage and Hutton Ranch Rd. Thank you.

South Kalispell Volunteer Firefighter and Flathead Senior Toby Sieler climbs 110 flights of stairs in full gear to commemorate the 25th anniversary of 9/11. Lots of students and the FHS Symphonic Band cheer him on.

Engine 2381 and tender 2391 are spending the weekend as agency assist for the Skillet Fire. Three personnel will be out with these apparatus through the weekend. While these units were deployed on Saturday our other volunteers responded to a structure fire and a power lines emergency.
