Matthew Cox’s Pledge #1: Lower Taxes
“As your Commissioner I will support a 15% reduction in the Kane County property-tax levy, while reviewing county spending for waste and unnecessary programs. I will vote against future tax increases that make Kane County more expensive for everyone.”

Matthew Cox’s Pledge #2: No More Handouts to Developers
“It is not the role of county government to give special tax breaks or financial handouts to developers when other local businesses receive no such support.
As your County Commissioner, I will oppose developer subsidies and special-interest giveaways. I will work to ensure that taxpayer dollars are used to serve county residents, improve essential services, and maintain the infrastructure our communities depend on.”

Matthew Cox’s Pledge #3: We Must Control Our Own Destiny
“Outside money and powerful interests are increasingly trying to influence the future of Kane County. As your Commissioner, my responsibility is to represent the people who live, work, and raise their families here. I will make decisions based on what is best for Kane County residents—not outside investors, special interests, or political powerbrokers.

Matthew Cox’s Pledge #4: I Will Put You First
“As your public servant, I will work hard to listen to your concerns and understand your needs. I will do everything I can to ensure that Kane County government serves those needs effectively. The individuals and families of Kane County are my top priority, and I will always put you first.”

What a ride! I have already learned so much on this journey. I am grateful for the lessons learned, mistakes made, and the progress and knowledge that come with them. Thank you for your support and encouragement. We can be better. I'm asking for a couple more people to vote. A few more people to call and communicate their thoughts, concerns, or advice. I Work You Vote! This turtle made it look easy navigating the waves, currents, cliffs, and rocks.

A friend of mine told me once, “Matt, my problem is I like to work more than I like to play.” This statement changed my perspective. I love to work, and with work comes progression. Finding joy in work is awesome; it’s how we learn, develop, and grow. We have the opportunity to choose joy in whatever our work is. I look forward to the progression that comes with new work. I look forward to working to progress in the political field. Going through the budget and working to cut taxes, I cannot express enough that tax dollars are hard-earned and not to be used for elected officials for trips, vehicles, hotels, as though they’re theirs. My priority as your county commissioner is to let you keep as much money as possible - not to cut taxes and give your money back, but to ensure you keep your money.

Remember Who You Are
This statement has been a part of my life from the beginning. My grandparents told their kids as they left the house throughout their life. For me, that I am a son of a Father in Heaven with infinite potential. I believe this applies to all of us as we choose to accept it. This does not mean that I am perfect obviously far from it. I will strive to learn from them and implement improvements in every faucet of my life, mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. I look forward to the potential change I can make. I have thoroughly enjoyed the progress and education I have already experienced. I realize the responsibility and appreciate the support I have felt throughout. Let’s Go!!!

Good morning. "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you." I am very excited about the opportunity to serve you all! Through the campaign, I have struggled to "campaign." I wouldn’t want someone to call me and ask for my vote. I wouldn’t want someone knocking on my door asking for my vote. I wouldn’t want a yard sign in my yard; luckily, no one would see a yard sign in my yard, so no one asks. I do have 500 yard signs I would like to distribute. If you would like to support me, private message me and I’ll bring one to you, unless you live in Idaho; I know you'd want one, but I won’t bring it to you. I will be bringing them around and may knock on your door. If I interrupt your peace, please use any and all verbal and non-verbal communications to inform me that your peace is being encroached upon, and I will exit henceforth. Ballots will start being seen on June 2nd, and the primary polls will be open on June 23rd. It is of monumental importance to vote in the primary. The primary is when you choose your Republican representative. I WORK, YOU VOTE! LET'S GO!

For Kane County residence in the SSD east of town. We are having an informal meeting at the county office Tuesday the 19th at 11. Please come to communicate your thoughts on adding residents north of town. I know my family has enjoyed Moqui Cave, Cave Lakes and look forward to going down the river with Western River Expeditions, as well as a residents and a couple property owners. We had a meeting Wednesday at which I didn’t have all the information. Ignorance is never bliss. I am against representation of our district by individuals not residing in our district. I look forward to elected officials in our district making decisions for us in January. If you are interested in being on the board for the SSD you need see Chameile Lamb at the county clerk auditor office the 1st week of June. I know we have been given inaccurate information and the communication has been poor. We need to unite, mend relationships and move forward. I know we were told we couldn’t expand. Jeff Stott found that we legally can. Adding the residence north of Kanab doesn’t hurt us but does add to our 25% administrative use. I hope to see you at the meeting.

Matthew LeGrand Cox. Named after Matthew Cowley and LeGrand Richards. My mom worked at the BYU administration office and loved these men, and she wanted me to emulate their character. My aunt always called me Matthew BeGrand; she said I had to earn the LeGrand, and she wanted me to become grand. I'm an extremely logical and efficient individual; my biggest concern is that government often isn't logical or efficient. For this reason, I want to be your county commissioner. I want to change the narrative. I want to be logical in our spending, and I want to be efficient in our work. We can cut taxes through efficiencies; I know of at least one department that consolidated two positions into one. The money was then used elsewhere instead of going back to taxpayers. The increase to commissioners three years ago should not have happened, and removing the inflation increase from four years ago would be my first order of business. Government positions are a service opportunity. At the commission meeting this morning, I heard the word 'power' multiple times. Government does not have power; the power is in the people whom I would like to serve. Often, responsibility is confused with power. Responsibility and humility are the characteristics of the men I was named after and the traits I'm asking you to entrust me with through your vote. So, everyone knows, I grew up a BYU fan, then played rugby for the U.
