MORE LEEWARD COAST CARE

Honolulu EMS celebrated the opening of its new Ko Olina ambulance station with a traditional Hawaiian blessing.

The new station expands EMS coverage for Ko Olina and surrounding communities, including Wai‘anae, Nānākuli, Makakilo and Kapolei.

The station’s 12-hour ambulance unit officially began operations on October 4. Since then, crews responded to more than 150 emergency 911 calls and transported more than 60 patients to emergency departments for further treatment.

Honolulu EMS plans to eventually expand the Ko Olina ambulance unit’s operations to 24 hours a day.

The department is scheduled to graduate an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) academy next month, with the next EMT academy planned to begin next summer.

THOUSANDS OF HOMES

It is an honor to officially break ground on the long-awaited redevelopment project of Mayor Wright Homes.

A blessing highlighted with a sprinkling of salt and rain water, led by Kahu Kordell Kekoa, officialy kicked off the expansive project which will provide families and residents with more than 2,400 homes.

Work will transform the 14.8-acre Kalihi-Pālama property into a new bustling, vibrant community about ¼ mile from future Iwilei Skyline Station.

The redeveloped neighborhood will also include more than 50,000 sq. feet of retail and community space.

The project will be completed in phases and is expected to take about 15 years.

We are sending a huge mahalo to the ʻIolani Football Team! These boys and their coaches cleared out 200+ bags of trash (that’s about 3 tons of material!) from rugged and hard-to-reach terrain in Mauʻumae Nature Park.
We cannot thank the team and the school enough for their extraordinary effort and for their selfless dedication, taking time out of their busy days to make a difference in our community. Not only that, they had a football game later that day, and they won! These guys are legends. Bravo!
A special thanks to , Jackson D. Sayama, community members, and City staff who came together in this effort. This is truly what it means to be

We are so happy to see Kaleimaʻo come to life! This project by Stanford Carr Development on 3.7 acres of City land represents 127 housing units in the heart of ʻEwa. Kaleimaʻo is at the intersection of Fort Weaver Road and Renton Road, within walking distance of Asing Community Park. This project broke ground just over a year ago and already, units are opening for hard-working, local families. In some units, folks could pay just $698 per month at 30% Area Median Income (AMI)!
