Of all the fundraisers we've ever witnessed, this might be THE most creative. ๐ Shoutout to Chris Purcell, a math teacher originally from Kankakee, who wanted to do something special to raise support for families impacted by the March 10th tornado. Thus, ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ฉ๐๐๐ฌ ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ง๐๐๐จ ๐๐๐ฅ๐ข๐๐ was born!

We are incredibly grateful to The Daily Journal for their support for our Emergency Response Fund for Kankakee County. ๐

On top of this donation, we are grateful to the Journal for continuing to share the stories of families impacted, as well as how our neighbors have worked together to show hope during dark times. Thank you for standing with us and making a meaningful difference.

We love a good team effort! This month, we partnered with Olivet Nazarene University and Community Cup Church for a new initiative.
Every year, when students move out, inevitably, things get tossed that could be used by neighbors in need. Thanks to this effort, thousands of items were saved and distributed to families through our partners at Harbor House, The Salvation Army Kankakee, and families impacted by the March 10th tornado via our friends at Embrace. Furniture from ONU was also donated to a total of seven local nonprofits.
We were proud to help support this effort! Special thanks to Dr. Vander Schaaf for leading the charge on this initiative, as well as our own Women United volunteers who assisted - Amanda and Dr. Yvette Rose.
