Kankakee Economic and Community Development Agency The ECDA is a department of the City of Kankakee whose mission is to improve the lives of Kankakeeans and enhance the economic vitality of Kankakee.

The ECDA administers programs that serve the neighborhoods and residents of the City of Kankakee provided by federal, state, and local funding. I Am Kankakee: Lia Schillinger

For Lia Schillinger, Kankakee has been more than a place to live, it's where she built her education, career, family, and business. Her journey wasn't always perfectly planned, but through challenges, opportunities, and continued growth, Kankakee became the community she chose to call home and serve.

Today, Lia works as a psychologist for the State of Illinois, operates her own private practice, and continues to give back to the community. Her story is a reminder that sometimes you don't need to have it all figured out, you just need to keep moving forward.

We hope to see you this Wednesday for the Senior Expo and Senior Market hosted by our friends at the Kankakee Valley Park District!

We'll be at the KVPD Rec Center from 9am to 12pm on October 14th with several other community organizations sharing resources and opportunities with a focus on seniors. There will also be a market with handmade goodies!
