Morris friends, I attended the informational meeting tonight concerning the proposal for the land on 74th St. As your candidate for District Six Commissioner, I am listening and I hear your concerns. As your Commissioner I will continue to listen to your, hear you, and work for you.

As your Commissioner, I will never speak first and get facts last. My commitment will be to stay well informed and to keep you well informed.

Here is a follow up post concerning the land on 59th Street after my conversation with our present District Six Commissioner, Angela Markley.

Nothing has come up before the Commission nor is anything scheduled.

As stated in my previous post, I contacted Jim Ernst, our Commissioner on the Board of Zoning and City Planning Commission, appointed by Commissioner Markley. According to Jim, nothing has come before the Board of Zoning or City Planning Commission nor is anything on the upcoming agenda for next month.

The thing to remember is that the process will begin with us, the residents, specifically those in close proximity to the site.

Having served on the Board of Zoning and City Planning Commission, I know that if and once a proposal is put forth by the owners, each step of the process will require public input.

After a lengthy process of public meetings and input from the public (even in each Board of Zoning/ City Planning Commission and UG Commission meeting), the final approval would rest with the UG Commission based on the recommendation of the City Planning Commission.

If given the opportunity to serve as your Commissioners know that I will always make sure you are receiving correct information.

I am hoping all of District Six (West Argentine, Morris, Muncie, and Turner) can work together as one Community toward safer neighborhoods and stronger community.

I am posting the link to UG Planning and Urban Design. Past Board of Zoning and City Planning Commission meeting agendas and minutes can be found there as well the upcoming scheduled meetings agendas.
