What a great way to get the school year going by hosting a dodgeball game to spread more awareness on to***co and va**ng addiction. The National Honor Society students who are also a RESIST Chapter at F.L. Schlagle High School hosted a dodgeball tournament called “Dodge the Addiction” to engage students in participating in a dodgeball tournament as a way to create awareness on the harms of to***co and va**ng. It was a great turn out!

Last month before school ended for the summer, RESIST Chapter students along with other students from F.L. Schlagle High School cleaned up school grounds and a nearby park using this opportunity to identify to***co, ni****ne and alcohol products littered on the community grounds. It was great to see these students take out time from their afternoon to clean up their community!

A couple weeks ago our Sumner Academy RESIST Chapter students had the opportunity to present their research on to***co, va**ng and ni****ne addiction at the KC stem fair located at the Union Station. Today, they had the chance to present their research again to their fellow high schoolmates, staff and administration. It was great partnering with these students and their teacher and we look forward to more partnership in the near future.

Our Resist Chapter members from FL Schlagle High School and Sumner Academy of Arts and Sciences did well at the recent KCKPS Board of Education meeting which took place on April 23rd. They highlighted the work they have been doing throughout the school year to address the issues of va**ng on school grounds. We like to especially thank the Kansas City Kansas Public School Board of Education members for this opportunity to share the work and make our community more aware of the pressing issue of ni****ne addiction among Wyandotte County youth!
