Santa will be headed through Blue Summit December 19th 2026 around 1100 hours to pass out presents and food to our district residents who would like to participate. This is an amazing event that helps so many families. If you or you organization wants to donate any type of help please contact Chief Jeff Jewell. We are always in need of toys and d food products! I know it’s early to be thinking about this but it’s a big event that takes lots of help. 816-918-3082

Trunk & Treat will be held at the fire station on October 27th 2026 at 5:00 pm. If you want to participate by decorating a vehicle or help us out with a candy donation let me know we would love to make this a great experience for our little goblins!

Blue Summit clean up date has been set. October 3rd & 4th No tires, chemicals or paints. Please pass the word to other district residents. This program is not guaranteed to last so take advantage of cleaning your property while you can. Help make Blue Summit beautiful. Feel free to pick up your ditches, roadways, and help others clean up their property if needed. See you there on October 3 and fourth. Dumpsters will be set out. Thank you Jackson County for the help.

EMT CLASS STARTING SOON!
The Inter City Fire Protection District will host its next EMT class from October 5, 2026, through February 3, 2027. Seating is limited, so applicants are encouraged to submit their application and deposit as soon as possible to reserve a seat.

Schedule
Classes will be held every Monday and Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Cost and Deposit
The cost of the class is $1,400, which includes a $100 non-refundable deposit. The deposit must be submitted with your application and will be applied toward the total cost of the class.
The deposit must be paid by cashier’s check or money order. Cash will not be accepted.

How to Apply
Applications are available on our website at inter-city-fpd.org under the Training tab.
Applications may be turned in at the fire station located at 1702 Blue Ridge Blvd., Blue Summit, MO 64126.

Inter City Pumper # 1 and Medic #2 were dispatched to the 8300 block of Truman Road on a motor vehicle crash. When Pumper #1 arrived at which time they requested additional unites for multiple injures. Inter City Medic 4 and Inter City Medic 1 were also dispatched along with Two mutual aid ambulances from KCFD. All patients were taken to local hospitals. Jackson County Deputies were still investigating the head on collision.

Inter City Fire is on scene of a roll over accident at 17th & Stark Ave. Please avoid this area. Evergy is in route to restore power. The roadway is close to all traffic.

Inter City EMS crews were busy throughout the night. Another shooting was reported in the 2100 block of Ashland Ave. EMS transported one victim with life threatening injuries. If you have any information about the shooting contact the Jackson County Missouri Sheriff’s Office.
