🍂🚶 That's a wrap on Walktober at Wyandotte County Park! 🌳

Last Sunday was a fantastic day for exploring Wyandotte County Park and introducing new faces to everything this beautiful park has to offer!

The 1-mile walk took visitors throughout the park, highlighting George Meyn Hall, Shelter D, Sunflower Hills Golf Course, the Wyandotte County Historical Museum, and other park amenities. It was a great opportunity to enjoy the fall weather, get outside, and discover some local treasures!

👱‍♀️✨ Adding to the fun, a group of Dollys made a surprise appearance, bringing extra personality and smiles to the day!

🎨 The event also featured a quick paint competition! It's always exciting to see how artists envision the park and bring its scenery to life through their artwork.

A big THANK YOU to everyone who helped make Walktober possible, including , , , and Wyandotte County Historical Museum. Your partnership helped make this event a success!

The long-awaited retaining wall project along West Drive, between Shelters 4 and 6 at Wyandotte County Lake Park (91st Street and Leavenworth Road), is officially complete, and the road is back open!

Thank you to everyone for your patience throughout this project. We’re excited to see this improvement finished and ready for the community to enjoy!

Join us on Thursday, November 5, at 11:45 a.m. as we celebrate the completion of the retaining wall project and the Turtle Cove playground, which was completed earlier this year.

More details about the celebration, including parking and event information, are coming soon. We look forward to celebrating with you!

PARK ENTRANCE CLOSURE NOTICE 🚨

Please be aware that the three gates on the northern end of Wyandotte County Park (126th Street and State Avenue) marked on the map will close and lock tomorrow, Saturday, October 17, at 8:30 AM and reopen Monday, October 19, at 7:30 AM due to a neighboring event taking place this weekend.

If you are planning to join us for Walktober this Sunday, October 18, from 10 AM to 12 PM, please review the alternate routes shown in this post. The Riverview Avenue entrance is the recommended route for accessing the park during this time.

ROAD NOW OPEN AT WYANDOTTE COUNTY LAKE PARK!

West Drive, between Shelters 4 and 6 at Wyandotte County Lake Park (91st Street and Leavenworth Road), is now open!

The rock wall project, which has been underway throughout the year, is nearing completion. We do not anticipate any further road closures at this time.
