Yesterday, Mattie Rhodes, El Centro, and Guadalupe Centers, convened by UnidosUS, came together for a Community Data Walk to reflect on research, explore community needs, and identify opportunities to better serve Kansas City’s Hispanic community.

Through shared data and conversation, we’re working to strengthen collaboration across early childhood education, health and mental health, youth development, workforce development, cultural arts, and more.

The gathering featured opening remarks from El Centro Inc., Guadalupe Centers, and Mattie Rhodes, followed by special guest Janet Murguía, President and CEO of UnidosUS.

By bringing our organizations, expertise, and community perspectives together, we’re building a stronger foundation for collective impact and a brighter future for Hispanic individuals and families throughout our region.

⛳️ A HUGE thank you to our 2026 Mattie Rhodes Golf Classic sponsors! 💚

Our final installment of our Community Conversation series is here! 🎥

Join featured artist Emiliano Zapata as he discusses the symbolism behind his featured piece entitled, "Chucho and the Flood Plain". His work explores time, memory, and the spaces in between. Inspired by the monarca butterflies, marigolds, and the powerful connection we share with our animal companions, this piece imagines our beloved dogs guiding us back to those we’ve lost. After recently losing their own dog Bruce, the artist created this work as an ode to that bond—and to the idea that our pets are family, too.
