Mid-America Regional Council KC Metro's association of city and county governments and metropolitan planning organization. Some issues reach across the boundaries of individual communities.

Often they can only be addressed by working together. The Mid-America Regional Council promotes regional cooperation and develops innovative solutions. We help create a community people are proud to call home. MARC is a nonprofit association of city and county governments and the metropolitan planning organization for the bistate Kansas City region. Governed by a board of local elected officials, we serve nine counties and 119 cities. We provide a forum for the region to work together to advance social, economic and environmental progress. MARC is funded by federal, state and private grants, local contributions and earned income. A major portion of our budget is passed through to local governments and other agencies for programs and services. If you are looking for more information about MARC, please visit http://marc.org.

We welcomed leaders from six African cities to our office Thursday.
The group is in the United States as a part of the U.S. Department of State International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP).
They're here to learn about the division of authority and responsibility between federal, state, and local governments.
The group is also exploring the role of regional planning authorities and innovative public-private partnerships that allow state and local governments to provide enhanced services, encourage economic growth, prepare for emergencies and ensure public accountability.
Cultural Vistas arranged the program for the representatives from Botswana, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, Mozambique and South Africa.

Help shape the future of your regional transportation system!
As the metropolitan planning organization for nine counties in the Kansas City region, many of our programs are funded with your tax dollars and may affect transportation in your
community.
Please share your thoughts on:
• A special amendment to the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), the region’s five-year
construction program.
• The draft 2027 Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP), which describes transportation planning activities MARC and other agencies undertake during the year.
• The release of the Public Participation Plan (PPP), which provides a framework that guides public involvement in MARC’s transportation planning projects.
Learn more about the updates and share your feedback at marc.org/TransportationInput.
