Your community needs you.
Volunteer Firefighters & Cadets Needed
Kansas Fire Protection District is looking for dedicated community members to join our team as volunteer firefighters and cadets.
We are currently down on firefighters, and our community needs neighbors who are willing to step up, serve, and make a difference when emergencies happen. Every new volunteer helps keep response times strong and ensures someone is ready when our neighbors call for help.
No experience is required — training is provided.
We are accepting:
Cadets: Ages 15–18
Firefighters: Ages 18 and up; must have a driver’s license
Applicants must be able to pass a background check and should preferably reside within the township and Village of Kansas.
As a volunteer firefighter or cadet, you will receive hands-on training, work alongside a committed team, and help protect lives and property throughout our community.
Benefits include serving your community, pay per call, and an accidental death benefit that covers members 24/7 while they are a member, even if the accident is not fire department related.
Training is held twice a month on the second and last Tuesday at 6:00 PM, with additional online training.
Not sure if firefighting is for you? Come talk with us. There are many ways to serve, and we’ll help you learn where you fit.
Whether you are interested in firefighting, emergency response, driving apparatus, or learning more about the fire service, there may be a place for you with Kansas Fire Protection District.
Step up. Serve your community. Be there when your neighbors need you.
Neighbors helping neighbors.
For more information or to request an application, message us here on Facebook or email [email protected]. You can also stop by during a training night to meet the crew, ask questions, and see what being part of the department is all about.
Parents are welcome to reach out with questions about the cadet program.
Even if you are not able to volunteer, please share this post to help us reach someone who can.
