For the 5th year, members of the Kaplan Fire Department have participated in the New Orleans Stair Climb.

Firefighters, EMS, law enforcement, and their families walk a mile of silence. Then the first responders begin their 78 stories ascent to memorialize those who lost their lives on 9/11.

Never forget the sacrifices that were made that day and the sacrifices that our men and women of service make everyday for the country and communities they love.

Before entering the stairway, our guys prayed for the fallen. Including our brother from Meaux/Nunez Fire Department. ❤️✝️

I, along with everyone at theKaplan Fire Department, offer our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and fellow firefighters of the fireman who tragically lost his life while responding to a call.

We stand with the Meaux/Nunez Vol Fire Dept during this incredibly difficult time and extend our prayers to all who knew and served alongside him.

Are you committed to protecting your community and making a difference when it matters most? We are seeking dedicated, physically fit, and motivated individuals to join our fire department as Firefighters. In this role, you'll respond to emergencies, protect lives and property, provide emergency medical assistance, and educate the public on fire prevention and safety.

Key Responsibilities

· Respond promptly to fire, medical, rescue, and hazardous material emergencies.

· Operate firefighting equipment, vehicles, and emergency response tools safely and effectively.

· Rescue individuals from dangerous situations and provide emergency medical care as needed.

· Conduct fire prevention inspections and participate in public education programs.

· Maintain firefighting equipment, vehicles, and station facilities.

· Participate in ongoing training, drills, and professional development.

· Work collaboratively with team members during emergency and non-emergency operations.

Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

· Ability to pass physical fitness, medical, and background examinations.

· Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

· EMT certification or willingness to obtain certification is preferred.

· Firefighter certification is preferred but may not be required for entry-level candidates.
