At U.S.VETS Barber's Point in Kalaeloa, O'ahu, the mission goes beyond providing temporary relief. Through the signature Veterans in Progress program, the focus is on helping veterans completely transform their lives, moving them from a state of surviving to truly thriving.

The Veterans in Progress program is built on three essential pillars designed to create lasting stability and independence:
Stable, Safe Housing: Providing a secure foundation where veterans can find safety, peace of mind, and a place to call home.

New Skills & Higher Income: Offering the training and resources necessary to help veterans build new capabilities, expand their career options, and increase their earning potential.

Independence Through Work: Empowering veterans to regain self-sufficiency and long-term confidence through meaningful employment.

Empowering our veterans and building a stronger community! 🤝✨

We are incredibly thrilled to celebrate the impact of the partnership between CVS Health and U.S.VETS Hawaiʻi with the opening of the U.S.VETS Waiʻanae Career & Training Center!

The new facility offers job training, life skills, financial literacy, and a pharmacy technician apprenticeship to support veterans and families. Scott Sutton of CVS Health emphasized the company's commitment to expanding access to healthcare, housing, and workforce opportunities in Hawai'i.

Mahalo to Scott, CVS Health, and all involved! 🌺

No veteran who served our country should ever face the crisis of homelessness alone. 🇺🇸🌺

At U.S.VETS Hawai'i, our Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program is dedicated to keeping families home. We provide critical, rapid assistance to low-income veteran families who are currently experiencing homelessness or are at imminent risk of losing their housing.

We walk with our heroes every step of the way to ensure stability, dignity, and peace of mind. Our program helps you:

🏠 Find Safe, Affordable Housing – Navigating the housing market to secure a place you can call your own.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Keep 'Ohana Together – Ensuring your family stays under one roof where they belong.
🤝 Get Support Every Step of the Way – Providing personalized case management, connection to VA benefits, and resource navigation.

Housing crises are significantly easier to stabilize when you reach out early. If your housing is becoming unstable, or you are facing eviction, please don’t wait. Help is here.

Tamah-Lani Noh, the Executive Director of U.S.VETS Barber's Point shared a powerful personal message celebrating the grand opening of the new U.S.VETS Waiʻanae Career & Training Center 🌟

This incredible milestone, built in partnership with CVS Health and alongside vital community projects like Wainani is already changing lives on our island. For Tamah-Lani, this partnership hits incredibly close to home. Because her son used to work at CVS, she has seen firsthand the company’s deep commitment to workforce development, care, and uplifting local communities. Seeing them align with U.S.VETS feels like a beautiful, full-circle moment 🤝✨

These are the exact kinds of collaborations that save lives. By creating a clear pathway to stable careers, financial independence, and permanent housing, this training center restores hope and dignity to our veterans and local families.
We can’t do this alone! Tamah-Lani hopes this incredible joint effort inspires other businesses, neighbors, and community members to step up, get involved, and lend a helping hand. Together, we can break the cycle of homelessness and uplift those who served us 🌺❤️

“You shall conquer.”

These encouraging words from Navy veteran Jefferey Nunes of U.S.VETS Wai`anae shine a light on and all the ways veterans find a path forward. His loyal lap dog, Poco “TT” Tiny Tina, is a reminder that healing, hope and connection can come in many forms.

DID YOU KNOW? 📊

2 in 10 veterans living with PTSD also battle a substance use disorder.

True healing doesn’t happen in a vacuum. It requires treating the whole person, supporting the mind, strengthening the body, and providing a safe place to live. When our service members return home, the invisible wounds of war can affect every area of their lives.

At U.S.VETS Hawai'i, we are on a mission to end veteran homelessness and provide the holistic, trauma-informed care our local heroes deserve. But we cannot do it alone. 🤝🌴

How YOU Can Help Our Hawai'i Veterans Today:

• Donate Directly: Financial contributions allow us to provide housing, mental health counseling, and job training. Every dollar stays local to support Hawaii's veterans.

• Volunteer Your Time: From serving meals to assisting with facility events, your time makes a massive difference in creating a welcoming community.

• Donate Supplies: Essential household items, clothes, and hygiene products help veterans transitioning into safe, permanent housing.

• Spread Awarenes: Share this post! Education reduces stigma and ensures a veteran in need knows where to find a supportive community.

Let's honor those who served by ensuring they have the safe haven and care they need right here in the islands. 🌺

We recently had the incredible honor of hearing from Dr. Kim Cook, Vice President of Clinical Services at U.S.VETS, as she highlighted the life-changing impact of the Wai'anae Career & Training Center.

Dr. Cook spoke passionately about how integrating professional career training with indigenous Hawaiian healing and deep community roots changes the trajectory of lives on the Leeward Coast. By providing local residents and veterans with accessible health education and workforce development, the center isn't just offering jobs—it’s building long-term community resilience.

🤝 The Power of Partnership:
A major catalyst for this mission is our vital partnership with CVS Health. Through shared resources, mentorship, and career pipelines, this collaboration bridges corporate support with local culture to create sustainable pathways to success in healthcare.
