🚁💙 Happy Emergency Nurses Week! 💙🚁

This week, TriCity LifeNet proudly recognizes the incredible emergency nurses who dedicate their lives to caring for patients during some of their most critical moments.

From the emergency department to the skies, we see firsthand the skill, compassion, quick thinking, and dedication it takes to provide lifesaving care.

To all the emergency nurses we have the privilege of working alongside, THANK YOU! Your ability to remain calm under pressure, advocate for your patients, and make a difference when every second counts does not go unnoticed.

We are grateful to be part of the same team, working together to provide the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Different roles. One mission. Saving lives. ❤️

No matter what’s happening in the skies around us, our pilots are prepared to safely get our medical crews where they need to go—and bring us home again.

Even “President Trump” stopped by to make sure we were ready to fly! 😄

Today, we pause to remember September 11, 2001.

We honor the lives that were lost, the families forever changed, and the firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS professionals, healthcare workers, military members, and countless others who answered the call to serve.

May we never forget the courage shown that day, the sacrifices made, and the way our nation came together in the days that followed.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

🚁 Mission Ready Monday: What Does the Pilot Actually Do?

Besides sitting up front, looking cool, and “Ubering” our patients and medical crew around 😎🚁, our pilots actually have their hands—and feet—busy flying the EC135!

Today, let’s look at three of the controls they use: the cyclic, collective, and pedals.

🕹️ The Cyclic
The cyclic is the control stick located in front of the pilot and controls the helicopter around its pitch and roll axes.

➡️ Pitch — moves the nose up or down
↔️ Roll — banks the helicopter left or right

The pilot makes small, precise cyclic inputs throughout the flight, especially while hovering, taking off, approaching a scene, and landing.

🚁 The Collective
The collective is located beside the pilot’s seat. Raising or lowering it changes the pitch of all the main rotor blades at the same time, changing the amount of lift the rotor produces.

⬆️ Raise the collective = increase blade pitch and lift
⬇️ Lower the collective = decrease blade pitch and lift

The collective is an important part of controlling the helicopter’s climb and descent and is used together with the other flight controls.

👣 The Pedals
The anti-torque pedals control the EC135’s Fenestron, the enclosed tail rotor at the back of the helicopter. The pedals control the helicopter around its yaw axis, allowing the pilot to move the nose left or right while also counteracting main rotor torque.

So while it might look like our pilots are just sitting up front “Ubering” everyone around, they’re constantly using their hands and feet together to make precise adjustments and safely get our patients and crews where they need to go. 🚁

It’s always great to work alongside our EMS partners—whether it’s in our local communities or with agencies we meet along the way while flying across the region. 🚑🚁

No matter where the mission takes us, we’re grateful for the opportunity to work side by side with the incredible EMS professionals who are there when their communities need them most.

Your dedication, compassion, and commitment to the communities you serve are truly unparalleled. Thank you for all you do! ❤️💙

🚁 Mission Ready Monday 🩸

Did you know we carry blood products on every flight?

When every second counts, having blood immediately available can make a critical difference for patients experiencing severe bleeding or shock. Our aircraft also carries a blood warmer, allowing us to warm blood products during administration and help prevent hypothermia—an important part of caring for critically ill or injured patients.

From the blood we carry to the equipment we use to safely administer it, we’re prepared before the call ever comes in.

Because being Mission Ready means having the right tools, at the right time, to give every patient the best possible outcome. 🚁🩸

🚁 Mission Ready Monday 🚁

Ever wonder how we keep our medical equipment and supplies cool during those hot summer days? ☀️🌡️

When temperatures climb, we use a large portable air conditioner to help keep the interior of the aircraft cool. ❄️🚁 Maintaining a cooler environment helps protect our temperature-sensitive medical equipment and supplies and keeps everything mission ready for our next patient.

Just one of the many behind-the-scenes things we do to make sure our aircraft, equipment, and crew are ready when the call comes!

TDFM-9100

Did you know our TDFM-9100 includes a statewide digital channel that allows us to communicate with agencies across Nebraska? Whether we’re coordinating with EMS, fire, law enforcement, or another air medical crew, this channel helps keep everyone connected when it matters most.

Clear communication is a key part of every successful mission. Knowing when and how to use the statewide digital channel helps ensure seamless coordination and better patient care.
