Kyle and Mason are recognized at about the 30-minute mark.
Here's what President Gold had to say about their work:
“UNK’s impact reaches deeply into the community in personal, human ways. Through free counseling services and programs like a Reminiscence Therapy Group Program for older adults, led by Kyle Harshbarger and Mason Morhain, both UNK graduate students, UNK is helping Nebraskans find support, connection and belonging. In those moments, our mission becomes clear: education is not only about preparing students for careers. It is about preparing them to improve lives. Mr. Harshbarger and Mr. Morhain, please stand and be recognized for their leadership.”
For the past year, Kyle and Mason have brought their time, energy and care to our members each week. The Reminiscence Group has given people a chance to share stories, connect with one another, and remember the little things in life that bring a smile.
As Kyle and Mason move on to the next stage of their graduate school journey, they are passing the torch to new counseling students at UNK. We can't thank them enough for everything they've brought to PSAC and our members. We will certainly miss seeing them each week!
The Reminiscence Group will now meet Tuesdays at 3:30 PM. We’d love for you to join us, whether you're a longtime member of the group or have never attended before.
