We are so honored to share that the Kearney Senior Center received the Biggest Community Impact Award at the Kearney Chamber of Commerce Gala! Thank you to the Kearney Chamber for this recognition. It means the world to all of us.

This award really belongs to our AMAZING kitchen volunteers. 💙 Day in and day out, you show up with smiling faces and giving hearts to prep and serve meals for our seniors. You do far more than put food on a plate. You bring friendship, comfort, and a sense of family to everyone who walks through our doors. For many of our seniors, the meal and the kind word that comes with it are the best part of their day.

We truly couldn’t do it without each and every one of you!! Thank you for everything you do. 🙌

And to our seniors: you are the heart of this place! You’re always up for a good time and show up every single day ready for fun, laughs, and a little friendly competition. 🎉 You make the Kearney Senior Center such a special place to be.

Thank you also to our families and community partners. Here’s to many more years of serving Kearney together! ❤️

🎹 Can You Help Us Out? 🎹

Our piano is badly in need of a tune-up, and we have a very special group coming to sing! If you tune pianos, or know someone who does, and would be willing to help for free or at a reduced cost, please send us a message or give us a call. A donated tuning would be a true gift to our seniors and our community. 💛

🎶 Here’s Why! 🎶

On Monday, November 9th, we have the special treat of hosting the Concert Choir from Judson University! These 44 talented vocalists are on their fall tour and will be stopping here for lunch. But, naturally, they must sing for their meal!! 😄

Their concert, led by Dr. Warren Anderson, will feature vocal pieces guided by The Lord’s Prayer. After the music, we’ll enjoy lunch together and a few friendly rounds of mahjong. 🀄

Judson University is located in Elgin, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, and is named for Adoniram Judson, one of the first missionaries from America. With over 2,100 students, it’s large enough to offer outstanding programming while still giving each student individual attention.

🕥 Concert begins at 10:30 AM
📍 KEC Senior Center, 600 N Jefferson St, Kearney

Please invite your friends to join us for this beautiful morning of music, and share this post so we can find a piano tuner in time! 🙏

Senior center dance, every Tuesday, 1:00–3:30 PM! 💃🕺 Join us!
94 of us were at today's dance when we heard the news that Dolly Parton had passed. We ended up listening to Lisa Lisa Marie Bennett sing "Coat of Many Colors" in her honor. Rest in peace, Dolly... you brought so much joy to the world. 🌹
