🚨Friendly Reminder🚨

The fastest roadway in the state of Kansas is 75 miles per hour not 129 miles per hour. This vehicle was stopped in a 65 miler per hour zone. We are glad our Sedgwick County Trooper was able to get this vehicle stopped before something bad happened.

Today, Troopers assisted the Cowley County Sheriff's Office and Udall Police Department with a mock crash for Udall High School students. The mock crash involved a tractor and an SUV. The students were able to see what first responders do while on the scene of an injury crash.

After the mock crash, there were stations for them to learn about seatbelt safety, DUI prevention, tourniquet application, and many other things.

KHP assisted by bringing our roll-over machine for a roll-over demonstration and showing the students our fatal vision DUI goggles.

🔥 Fire Prevention Week 🔥

Troopers in Troop F participated in two Fire Prevention Week events this week. One with Sedgwick County Fire at the Sedgwick County Zoo and the other one with the Wichita Fire Department at the north Wichita YMCA.

During these events, we demonstrated our rollover simulator, showing children what can happen during a rollover crash when a seatbelt is not being used. Remember, everyone needs to be restrained in a vehicle, so your body does not hit other people while in the car. Seatbelts keep you in your seat and keep you safe.

Fire Prevention Week is a great opportunity to teach children about fire safety and general safety in things they do every day of their lives.

🎡That’s a wrap on another Kansas State Fair🇺🇸

From the first gate opening to the final night, Kansas Highway Patrol State Troopers and dispatchers were proud to serve alongside the countless people who helped make this year’s fair memorable, welcoming, and safe.

To the fair staff, vendors, volunteers, first responders, law enforcement partners, and most importantly, the thousands of Kansans who came out to celebrate, thank you!

As we celebrate 250 years of America, we’re reminded that some of the best parts of this country are found in communities coming together, serving one another, and making memories that last.

To everyone who stopped by, shared a smile, asked a question, thanked a Trooper, or simply said hello, you made our week special.

Thank you for another great Kansas State Fair. We’ll see you again in 2027!

The final day of the fair meant one more day of conversations, connections, safety, and service to the people we’re proud to protect. It’s been a great final day to the Kansas State Fair!
