Eating leftovers at least one night each week helps to prevent food waste and save money!

Label your leftovers with the date you made them. This can help you prioritize when you use them and allow you to organize them from newest to oldest. Same goes for produce. You don't need anything fancy! Just some tape and a marker.

Instead of buying lunch at work or school, save time and money and plan to take leftovers a few days a week.

This week is Food Waste Prevention Week! We'll share ways you can prevent food waste AND save money on your food budget.

Food waste costs the average Oregon family $1,600 each year. Groceries are too expensive to waste that kind of money!

Save time and money by taking inventory of what you have on hand before you go shopping.

Use a recipe site like Supercook to get recipes using what you have on hand. Use substitutions to get more meals out of less food.

Store leftovers properly to extend shelf life.

Compost scraps as a last resort.
