⚠️ THSBA RULES REMINDER ⚠️
The reminders below are excerpts from each rule. Please review the full rules online on the THSBA website.
Anglers, captains, and observers: Please review these important rules before your next tournament.
📵 Rule 5: Cell Phones & Fishing Information
On competition day, student anglers and boat captains may not use electronic communication devices to share fishing information during the tournament.
Student anglers may not use cell phones at all during competition hours except in emergency circumstances.
🦺 Rule 8: Life Jackets & Safe Seating
Every student angler, boat captain, and official observer must wear a fastened U.S. Coast Guard-approved and state-approved personal flotation device anytime the combustion engine is operating, from boat launch until weigh-in each tournament day.
Everyone in the boat must remain seated in a manufacturer-recommended on-plane seating location while the combustion engine is operating. Sitting on pedestal seats or the front or back decks is not permitted while the combustion engine is operating.
🚤 Rule 11: Boat Operation
Boat captains are the ONLY ones permitted to drive boats for their teams. Students may assist in loading and unloading ONLY if they have a Boater Safety Certification.
✅ Rule 14: Check In, Even With Zero Fish
For safety purposes, all teams must check in, even if they have zero fish to weigh. This allows tournament staff to account for every team.
Teams that do not check in/weigh in will receive zero points for that tournament and will not be permitted to fish their next divisional tournament.
Please review the full THSBA rules and make sure everyone in your boat understands these requirements. Help us keep every tournament safe and fair!
