Our department is incredibly thankful for Sgt. Hicks and his unwavering hard work and dedication to our K-9 program. His commitment goes beyond the call of duty, especially through his special mission of training a diabetic alert dog to make a life-changing difference in a young girls life. Our very own Ofc. Roberson and K9 Everest participated and compete in the 1st annual Auburn Top Dog event!

Officer Roberson and K9 Everest performed extremely well and represented the K9 unit, the department and the district in a positive light! The following highlights the event and results!

The event was a true challenge that included a high-stakes detection search through the Beard Eaves Coliseum featuring a "strength and power test", a vet scenario, stadium search, bag search, building search, real-world "dirty room' search against the clock and a cognitive ability test!

K9 Everest and Officer Roberson Finished 5th overall! They finished 1st in the strength and power event, tied 1st in the "Bags" and "stadium" events and 2nd in the cognitive ability evaluation.

Officer Roberson stated that it was an incredible experience and that the Auburn team made it clear how much they value and respect our program. He continued saying that he would recommend this event for more handlers to participate in next year and that he would bring home 1st place next time for us!

When you see Ofc. Roberson please take a moment to recognize his impressive performance, which is a result of the hard work, dedication and countless hours he has put in to become one of the best teams not only in our department but around the nation!
