Congratulations to Officer Bagwell on being named the Kennesaw Police Department’s Officer of the Quarter!

Officer Bagwell has demonstrated exceptional initiative and dedication to proactive policing, making numerous self-initiated felony arrests throughout the quarter.

On September 14, Officer Bagwell conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle he suspected was occupied by a wanted individual. The vehicle continued to a residence, where a passenger fled inside. Officers detained the occupants and determined the passenger had provided a false name and had an outstanding Failure to Appear warrant.

Officer Bagwell obtained a search warrant, resulting in the seizure of:

- Over 10 ounces of ma*****na
- 14 grams of co***ne
- 5 grams of crack co***ne
- 2.7 grams of M**A
- $1,875 in cash

Officer Bagwell's persistence, investigative skills, and commitment to keeping our community safe exemplify the outstanding work of our department.

Congratulations, Officer Bagwell, on this well-deserved recognition! 👏

Domestic violence affects individuals in every community, regardless of age, economic status, sexual orientation, gender, race, religion, or nationality. It can result in bodily injury, psychological trauma, and, in severe cases, even death.

The devastating physical, emotional, and psychological consequences of domestic violence can cross generations and last a lifetime.

Learning the signs of domestic violence may make it easier to recognize yourself or a loved one in an abusive situation. Too often, it goes unacknowledged or excused away, so the abuse escalates and becomes more intense or frequent.

Know how to recognize the signs of relationship abuse.

Every relationship is different, and domestic violence doesn’t always look the same. One feature shared by most abusive relationships is that the abusive partner tries to establish or gain power and control through many different methods, at different moments.

Remember: No one deserves to experience abuse of any kind—for any reason.
And every type of abuse is serious.

💙 Faith, Community & Connection! 💙

What a great evening at the Faith & Blue Summit Cookout!

We had an amazing time partnering with Summit Church for an evening filled with food, fellowship, and fun! Events like this give our community the opportunity to connect with the men and women of the Kennesaw Police Department, from our Chief of Police to the officers serving our streets every day, in a relaxed and welcoming environment. K9 Arrow & K9 Halo even made special appearances!

A huge thank you to Summit Church and Pastor Terry, one of our KPD Chaplains, for opening their doors and helping make this event possible! We also want to thank McQueen Atlanta for making a special appearance and adding even more excitement to the evening! 🏎️

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who came out to spend time with us. Building relationships and strengthening the connection between our officers and the community we serve is what Faith & Blue is all about! 💙🚔

You asked…we answer.

What should you do if a traffic light is not working correctly? If all traffic signal lights are not working because of an electrical power failure, you must stop at the intersection and then proceed when you know other turning and approaching vehicles, bicycles, or pedestrians have stopped. A blacked-out traffic signal works the same as a four-way stop intersection.

FLASHING YELLOW—What does a flashing yellow LIGHT (not arrow) mean? A flashing yellow signal light warns you to proceed through the intersection with caution. Slow down as you approach the intersection and stay especially alert.

FLASHING RED—A flashing red signal light means exactly the same as a stop sign: STOP! After you stop, proceed when safe and follow right-of-way rules.

Today is World Mental Health Day (October 10, 2026). Please take a moment and reflect on your own mental health as well as those around you. Let’s talk about mental health.

Depression is one of the most common mental illnesses in the world. According to the CDC, an estimated 1.5 million people attempted su***de in 2023. Over 49,000 people died by su***de in 2022. That is 1 death by su***de every 11 minutes!

Depression, suicidal thoughts, and mental distress appear to be on the rise. Su***de affects people of all ages.. Su***de was the second leading cause of death for people ages 10-24. It is always a tragedy whenever anyone ends their life by su***de, but it seems particularly devastating when it is a teen or young adult with their whole life ahead of them. Trying to juggle school, work, friends, and family while figuring out the rest of their lives can make these young adults very anxious.

As a parent, how can you help? If your child is struggling with depression, you are not alone! Be supportive and seek help for them, as well as support for yourself. It’s also important to know that several different kinds of therapy might be helpful for your teen, with some including a combination of medication and treatment. Conduct your research and find something or someone that can assist you. Keep the lines of communication open and check in regularly. If the treatment isn’t helping, work with the mental health care provider to modify it or try something new. To be most effective, your child must want to get better. Let your child know that you are there for them and ready to help.
