Clover Island is a mixed-use commercial and recreational destination located in Kennewick’s Historic Waterfront District. Port of Kennewick and its city, county, state and federal partners have teamed to add public amenities, improve the shoreline and create physical and visual access from the island to the Columbia River. The island features an entry gateway, recreational pathway, lighthouse, free public boat launch, marina and restrooms, public plaza, three restaurants (Cedars at Pier One, Ice Harbor Brewing at the Marina, The Crow’s Nest), a hotel (Clover Island Inn), and a diverse collection of public art.

August 7 is National Lighthouse Day! The Clover Island Lighthouse has become a local icon – and is celebrating its 16th anniversary this year. Here are some fun facts:

• The Clover Island Lighthouse is the newest lighthouse in the Pacific Northwest, and its solar-powered LED light flashes every 4 seconds
• Port of Kennewick built the 62-foot-tall Lighthouse and plaza area to help create a destination waterfront and spur an economic revitalization of Kennewick’s historic waterfront district
• The project was in partnership with the city of Kennewick using state grant funds and with support from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation
• You can visit the Clover Island Inn or Ice Harbor Brewing Company at the Marina and buy a U.S. Lighthouse Society Lighthouse Passport booklet, then have it stamped with a special Clover Island Lighthouse collector stamp (all proceeds are donated to the U.S. Lighthouse Society)
