Kenosha DAV/DAVA Chapter 20 Chapter-20 meets at the VFW Hall 6618-39th Avenue on the 2nd Wednesday at 7:00pm except for June & July.

We are committed to honoring and improving the lives of all veterans, past, present and future. We offer a group that understands the needs of disabled veterans and give them a place where they can be interact with other disabled veterans.

The discussion provided veterans from Wisconsin's Third Congressional District an opportunity to raise concerns directly with officials, ask questions and hear updates on efforts to improve veteran care, benefits and services.

‘Severe’ Staffing Shortages at VA Continuing to Increase, Says IG

Staffing shortages qualifying as “severe” in VA health care-related occupations have continued to increase, following a major jump in 2025, says an inspector general report.

For the current fiscal year, officials at the Veterans Health Administration facilities—which accounts for the large majority of the department—“reported a total of 4,712 severe occupational staffing shortages,” a report said, up from the 4,434 of 2025. That number in turn had been up from the 2,959 total of fiscal 2024.

A “severe” shortage is defined as applying to occupations that are difficult to staff based on criteria that may warrant the use of special hiring authorities and recruitment and retention incentives; it does not necessarily reflect vacancy rates in those positions.
