Hello,

Even though we have known for almost a year that this day was coming, it is still hard to believe. KISD extended our end date to September 30. One last camp. One last wedding at Camp Lily's. But the time has come. The buildings are pretty much empty. I am in the process of dissolving the nonprofit with the state and federal governments. In the next few days we will be shutting down the website, email and Facebook. We will have our PO Box until March if you need to correspond with us. The address is: PO Box 42, Kent City, MI 49330. I want to thank you for all of your support over the years and hope you will still come and enjoy the trails when the Land Conservancy of West Michigan takes ownership. I encourage you to look at their website to familiarize yourself with this wonderful organization. It is bittersweet because we are losing the buildings but this is the best case scenario under the circumstances we were handed. Having LCWM managing the property means it can never be developed and will be maintained as a nature preserve open to everyone to enjoy. Please support them in their efforts to honor the legacy of HCNC.

See you on the trails,

Kim Gillow

Hello friends of HCNC!!

If a family member of yours has donated collections, or specimens of taxidermy mammals, birds, insects, etc. to HCNC, please send a direct message to Vickie Finkler through Facebook!

For example, there was a person in the community who attended our moon walk this past winter, who mentioned that their grandpa had donated one of the large animals. We are trying to reach you, along with anyone else who remembers a donor.

Thank you!!

Photo so the post doesn't get lost.
